Microfocus SAXS study of crystals:
ID18 microfocus beamline at ESRF allows for fine scans of samples
Initially, a transmission X-ray radiograph of the bone sample was taken using the unfocused beam
Scans were planned on this image: 200 micron length paths were used, with scattering profiles taken every 5 microns.
Paths for the scans were designed to run through intact bone, altered or modified bone, or transitional sections
